DIT university's lush green campus on Mussoorie Road, Dehradun enables young minds to envision and create fresh ideas and explore new possibilities was established with commitment to produce responsible citizens and wise leaders. Journey was started in 1998, as “Dehradun Institute of Technology”, achieved the status of University duly approved by Govt. of Uttarakhand vide Act No.10 of 2013 dated 15th February 2013 and is recognized by UGC under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956.
DIT University is designed to provide holistic education, enabling students to stand on their own feet. The focus is always on promotion of self-learning and honing talents to ensure the all-round development amongst our students.

Many significant milestones have been achieved over the last 23 years DITU has approximately 21,500 alumni working at higher position in various professions as well as serving society all across the world. More than 270 highly competent faculty members, mentoring the students with a holistic approach.
